A former French teacher, Florence Perusse is now enjoying many of her days as a docent at the High Museum of Art. Docents are the first faces many visitors see and are essential in creating a meaningful and memorable Museum experience by conducting a knowledgeable guide for visitors. To become a docent at the High Museum of Art, volunteer candidates must commit to an intensive one-year training program. When she is visiting her two grandchildren in the Bay Area of California, she enjoys visiting the art museums there as well as exploring new adventures. (Her two fabulous daughters were patients of ours as well until moving away).
Florence is an avid reader, especially the study of WWII-more specifically the French and British resistance. She highly recommends the movie “The Imitation Game.” Another favorite of hers is 17th century French prose and poetry.
Her most memorable trip—in fact  “the most wonderful trip of her life” was her visit to Antarctica. How many people have gone there?
When she is not cheering for any sport that Georgia Tech plays whether away or home, she listens to smooth jazz, R&B, and Beach music and enjoys needlepoint. Her entire Christmas tree is decorated with only Needlepoint ornaments. She has been our patient for 34 years and every year we get to know her more.
How fitting that she be the patient of the month for February.  We  love you, Florence!
